Students were asked to produce a Kiosk PowerPoint presentation on a topical ICT issue. Paul chose worms – self-replicating computer programmes that infect the operating systems of computers, often with bad results.
Teacher comment
Paul made an informative presentation about his topic. He also had fun! He was very creative in the way he presented his information – he began his presentation with an animation of a battle scene as worms try to invade a computer.
This was a good technology project because Paul not only followed good technological practice in developing his solution, he also increased his general technological literacy. Paul gained an understanding of worms and how they affect society and how, in turn, society may influence developments to protect computers from worms.
