This programme is for those who are new to Electronics Technology. We will run a series of these workshops starting from 23 August. We will keep things simple. You will get to make and take simple projects and students write-on booklet back to your school. If you not able to attend these workshops then ask for our online and distance PD and mentoring services for Science and Technology teachers. We can assist you with unit plans and lots of projects.

These workshops are conducted by NZQA National Moderators. This year the Computing and Information Management workshops have been combined in preparation for the new Digital Technologies curriculum. The new draft standards however are outside the scope of these workshops.
Purpose
- Clarify your understanding of grade boundaries of internally assessed standards;
- Work with supplied assessment materials including samples of student work; and
- Engage in professional discussion.

PD for Technology Achievement Standards for 2011 - 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.8, 1.9
Energy & Technology Education Centre Seminar

We are running a series of PD workshops to meet the new Technology Curriculum needs for 2011. These are newley prepared drafts for the alignment of standards at level 1. Each PD session will cover two Achievement Standards. There will be short discussions, then you will get to make or modify our draft to suit the needs of your learners. The drafts we have prepared consist write on worksheets for preparatory activities. Students will gain enough background knowledge before attempting the formal assessment tasks. Sample assessment tasks are also included in the draft. Book for one or all sessions and get ready for 2011 with new ideas and new zest. The first PD workshop is on 7 October . the second second on 22 October and the thrid is on 4 November. There are two workshops planned during September holidays as well( 27 and 28 September). We may hold two workshops on weekends if there is enough interest. If you are unable to attend these PD courses and for out-of-Auckland teachers we can also provide mentoring service through emails and develop suitable material in Science and Technology at a little extra cost.

Junior Technology in the New Curriculum (Years 1-6)
Curriculum Support Project 2010 and TENZ sth-southisland Course

This is a two day workshop: Tuesday 10th August (9am-3pm), with a follow up day Tuesday 19th October (9am-3pm).
The workshop will involve:
- Unpacking the new technology curriculum
- Looking at what the new technology curiculum looks like in primary schools
- Leaving at the end of the day with a plan that you could use to teach technology in your school.
The facilitator for both days will be Paul Neveldsen (Team Solutions Auckland).
This workshop is funded by CSP (Curriculum Support Project 2010) and supported by TENZ sth-southisland and St Joseph's School Balclutha.
