Description
Promotional CD produced by Techlink in conjunction with Futureintech that illustrates the practice and achievements of Technology students and their potential career paths in a 56 image power point slideshow. The CD was created to promote Technology as a learning area and to inform parents of intermediate and secondary school students of the benefits of Technology education.
Content
Microsoft PowerPoint slideshow with 56 images that change every five seconds.
The first 38 slides focus on aspects of Technology education with a variety of outcomes from this learning area displayed alongside students engaging in multiple aspects of Technological Practice. Captions on each slide give information on the context of each image and how that relates to Technology education as a whole.
The final section shows former Technology students currently employed in the variety of different careers that Technology can lead to. Captioned quotes give information about the benefits of their chosen profession and its importance within industry.
Ease of Use
The operation of the PowerPoint slideshow is self-explanatory and can be operated by anyone with basic computer skills. Once set in place the slideshow can be left running in the background on a constant loop. The images are very high resolution and can be used on small laptops to larger displays and projection screens with no loss of quality.

A copy of the CD was sent to all schools. Limited free copies are available from Techlink at www.techlink.org.nz/ordering.htm until the supply runs out (limit one per school).
