Teachers: Welcome to Techlink
The Techlink site is used extensively by Technology teachers in all areas and at all levels and by both pre-service and in-service educators.
Get ready access to Curriculum Support material that provides research based papers to explain and exemplify the intent and terminology of the new curriculum and mechanisms for programme design and unit planning in technology.
Techlink have produced a 'New teacher support pack' to make Technology teachers aware of the wide range of support and resources that are available to them and to give some helpful advice as they head into the classroom for the first time.
Use the Technologists' Practice case studies as a flexible classroom resource. These are structured to provide a broad range of examples of product, process and problem-solving in contemporary community based technological practice. Case studies are supported by links to assist students in extending their research base and, in an increasing number of cases, pages making explicit links between the context of the practice and the Technology curriculum.
See some great ideas and approaches in the Beacon Practice and Classroom Practice case studies, which provide detailed examples of how teachers have successfully planned and implemented programmes and units leading to high quality student outcomes.
Get even more ideas from our Teaching Snapshots – single-page 'snapshots' of ideas/strategies that teachers have used successfully in their classroom practice.
Find out how teachers initiated, maintained and benefited by having organisations interact with their students in the Enterprise Links case studies.
Celebrate the achievements and successes of your students and their work on our Student Showcase pages.
Promote Technology education to parents/caregivers by making links to our Information for Parents pages within your emails to parents or including material from the site in your school newsletter.
