Teacher Education

Techlink's Teacher Education site provides Technology teachers and education professionals with a wide range of information and resources:

Professional Development

These pages bring together information and resources for the professional learning and development (PLD) needs of Technology teachers in schools.

The Senior Secondary PLD pages support PLD for secondary teachers dealing with NCEA, outlining the nature of the PLD available and how to access this.

The NCEA: Key Messages section is dedicated to delivering the national perspective on the NCEA Alignment project and the revised and new standards.Key Messages will be published as developed, categorised into Levels 1-3 and Scholarship. Teaching notes accompany these messages to build teacher understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum as the driver for learning programme design.

On the Ask an Expert page, you can ask questions and clarify issues that crop up during your teaching and assessment. The questions are directed to the National Coordinators, who also redirect to other experts so you get the best answer possible.

The Events Calendar page lists a range of PLD opportunities available across the country, including NZQA Best Practice workshops and all NCEA workshops delivered under the Ministry of Education PLD contract.

Pre-service

This is the home of the Pre-service Technology Teacher Education Resource (PTTER), a framework that provides the foundational elements for pre-service technology teacher education in New Zealand.

Research and Publications

These two pages provide lists of research papers and publications submitted by Technology education professionals. Entries include a brief review and an abstract.
