Control and feedback

Control mechanisms within a technological system are designed to enhance the efficiency of the system by maximising the desired outputs and minimising the undesirable outputs. The system is designed to be self regulatory.

Example: Remote stoat trap monitor – In this Techlink Student Showcase, a Year 8 student uses control and feedback systems to identify stoat traps that were empty in a series of traps without having to physically trek the entire trap line. Level 4/5.
