Nature of Technology Strand

The philosophical underpinnings of technology as intervention by design.

Nature of Technology is one of the three strands of Technology in The New Zealand Curriculum 2007, and has the components of Characteristics of Technology and Characteristics of Technological Outcomes.

In this strand, students develop an understanding of Technology as a discipline, and of how it differs from other disciplines (such as science or the Arts). They learn to critique the impact of technology on society and explore current and historical issues in technology.
