Survey Results

We carried out a survey across both classes and asked some questions about social networking. We put the figures into graphs and can conclude the following.

favouritesites

From the graph above we are able to conclude that Facebook and Bebo are the most favourite social net working sites of year 10 students of Wellington East Girls' College and Warrandyte High School. YouTube was still popular amongst students even though it is generally used for posting and viewing videos. In saying this though you can still post comments on the clip being viewed so others around the world can comment and view your remarks as well. HiFive, LiveJournal, Windows Live Spaces were the least favourite sites.

importance

This graph shows us that 14 students find social networking quite important in their lives whereas only one person found it not important to them at all. More people found social networking has some or little importance to them compared to the people who find social networking very important. What this shows is that social networking really is finding its way into the lives of most teenagers. This is a huge change from our parents' generation.

mostusedsites

The most popular site that was used by the year 10 students was Facebook which was closely followed behind by Bebo. HiFive, Live Journal and Twitter were the least popular sites only being used by one person. Five students spent most of their time on other social networking sites other than the ones shown above.

The majority of people surveyed (22 people) used a social networking site every day. The minority of the students did not use a social networking site very often. 86% of the people surveyed used a social networking site at least once a week or more.
