Teams from across Canterbury and Nelson will battle it out at Ruapuna from 9am to 4:30pm Saturday 28 November at Mike Pero Motorsport Park, Christchurch, competing in drag, street circuits, rolling resistance, innovation and more. Come along and support your local team.
This will be a great day out and not to be missed for all Technology teachers and students. There will be excitement for all, including:
· Electric vehicles taking on high performance combustion vehicles (Ferrari, Corvette, Lotus and more)
· Demonstrations of the Tesla P85D, with INSANE mode
· The winner of the New Zealand Drag Racing Association's 2014 street car nationals – now with double the horsepower
· Velodrome-style and straight sprint events for electric cars, motor bikes, go karts and bikes
· Demonstrations of plug-in vehicles from Audi, BMW, Nissan
· Test drive opportunities. Get yourself into the driver's seat of an electric vehicle.
· 32 high school teams battling it out in electric vehicles they've designed and built
· Smart Energy Solutions Showcase – more than 15 exhibitors of solar, wind, LED light bulbs and more
