TVNZ Story
During January various technology stories based on information submitted for Student Showcases were pitched to various media. Subsequently TVNZ has filmed a story on Mt Roskill Grammar School Year 11 Electronics Technology student Kevin Huang. The story is likely to screen on Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th February but this is yet to be confirmed.

Once the story has aired a copy will be placed in Techlink's Article Archive for viewing.

Additions to the information for parents section
Part of Techlink's marketing and promotions plan for 2008 is to increase promotion of technology education to parents and the wider community. Work is currently underway to provide more information that would be useful for parents.

The updated parents section will include pieces on the skills employers are looking for and what students will learn.

An email alert was sent to Techlink subscribers promoting the various available case studies beneficial for planning 2008 courses. These case studies are:

Beacon Practice - case studies to build teacher capability in technology education through a focus on quality teaching, innovative environments and supportive relationships.

Technological Practice - case studies supporting classroom learning by focusing on technological projects from throughout New Zealand and beyond from conception to completion.

Enterprise links - case studies examining mutually beneficial partnerships between schools and local enterprises.
