Promotion and communication

New curriculum resources promotion
During November, Techlink published a comprehensive set of resources supporting the new curriculum. These resources include a Ministry of Education overview, guidance, explanatory papers, and indicators of progression, to name just a few.

Once the curriculum support material was published live on Techlink, media releases were sent to Education Gazette, Education Today, Good Teacher Magazine, NZPF Magazine, and RouRou.

A notice, complete with links, was posted on Education Gazette's website 'Notices' section, under the heading 'Curriculum Support'. A black and white half page advert was also placed in Education Gazette.

Notification of the new curriculum resources was sent the PPTA and Teachers Refresher Course Committee.

Contact has been made with the Ministry of Education's Senior Adviser for Secondary Publications, Nigel Evans. Mr Evans has been sent information on a number of technology projects considered potentially news worthy.

TeamUp material online
TeamUp have revamped their website and an opportunity to provide insights into the technology sections content was extended to Techlink Communication Officer, Nick Maitland.

Call for Student Showcases
Techlink has been actively seeking information on student projects suitable for the ever popular Student Showcase.

Approximately 30 drafts have been sent in with more likely to come in soon. Techlink is keen to hear from any schools that have examples of excellent student projects in their technology classrooms. If you have an enthusiastic student who has exceeded expectation with a recent project contact Nick Maitland at nmaitland@techlink.org.nz or download the submission brief.
