Leadership Workshop – Auckland, October 2007
This workshop was organised to support technology curriculum leaders to implement the reviewed technology curriculum in their school. It specifically targeted technology curriculum leaders and coordinators in primary schools and technology HODs in intermediate and secondary schools.

Niall backgrounded the 12 years of development since the release of the 1995 curriculum statement.

Significant milestones were emphasised including the establishment of the Techlink website. Nick Maitland and Glynn McGregor from the Techlink development team briefly outlined the aims of the Techlink Materials Development project, the structure of the site and a timeline for its ongoing development.

With the focus clearly on student learning, Vicki emphasised the importance of choice of context in the development of learning experiences. The distinction between curriculum driven and context driven specific learning intentions was explained.

Cliff detailed the move from largely activity based programme design to learning based programmes and explored models for developing student progression.
